Your cell phone has a locator. If not turned off it is like carrying a personal homing beacon. The location history tracks your every move. For example the location history tracking on an Android phone is disturbingly detailed. It has a calendar history of your daily travels which includes the time, location and duration of visits. The iPhone has a similar feature. Of course you can turn off these features by going to Settings.
