A restaurant to check out if you like Italian food is the Rosebud on Taylor Street in the Little Italy section of Chicago. If you are coming from the south you will want to take the Dan Ryan (I94) north and exit Roosevelt Road heading west. Then in a block or two turn right and go a short distance north to Taylor Street where you will find numerous Italian restaurants starting with Tuscany. A little farther west you will find the Rosebud. Further west is Rush University Hospital Campus.

The Rosebud has been around a long time and is associated with the Rosebud on Rush as well as Carmine’s on Rush. There is valet parking which you should utilize for convenience. It is a relatively small, dark place with a friendly and professional staff. There is a family atmosphere, and on Sunday afternoons you can expect to see local families. All of the dishes are great, but my favorites include the square noodles, sausage and green peppers, and the chicken cacciatore. The fish specials are always great as well. The prices are modest by Chicago standards but not cheap. The portions are large so expect to take some home.
