More and more communities have video cameras at intersections. However, the video usually is not kept very long. For example, Munster has video cams at some intersections but only keeps the footage for 14 days. The Indiana department of transportation has video along some stretches of highway but only keeps it for a short time. the same is true of law enforcement agencies which increasingly have dash cams on the squad cars.
Often there is a dispute as to what happened in a crash and pictures, especially video, are very effective in proving the truth. Therefore, it is important to get into see us as quickly as possible so that such key evidence is preserved.
